Descendants of Alexander McPhail
Alexander McPhail was born in 1716 in Argyllshire, Scotland.
I am Alexander’s great-great-great-great-great grandson, and I am the keeper of this record.
The record goes back even further than Alexander, but the historical references become less reliable.
I start with Alexander as his life and his descendants are reasonably well documented.
Alexander’s great-grandson, Rev. Donald McPhail, emigrated from Scotland with his family in 1810, when Donald was eleven years old.
His ship landed at Black Point on the shores of Prince Edward Island, a region now known as the Argyle Shore.
Donald married Mary Currie in 1827, who sailed from Scotland with her family in 1806.
Donald and Mary were among the pioneers that settled the McPhail Clan in PEI, that later branched out to
New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Maine, and far beyond.
This record chronicles the descendants of Alexander McPhail.
